How to Create an Email Group in Gmail – Step by Step Guide

Yes, Using Gmail it happens when you had to do group mail regarding any project update or announcement and it frustrates more when your group is large and you had to add each email ID manually in Gmail. Well, don’t worry here we will guide you about how to create an Email Group in Gmail.

Using Group Email list user can send mail to multiple people by using group list. In Gmail user can create group email list via Google Contacts and can send email to group list easily.

How to Create an Email Group in Gmail

Step 1 – Open Google Contacts

In your web browser open Google Contacts and if you aren’t logged in to your account then just login using your mail credentials.

If you are already logged in to different account then just go to right upper corner profile section and change your login by adding new account.

Step 2 – Select Contacts from List

Once you logged in to your Google Contacts account then just select the contact list which you want to add in a group mail list. There will be checkbox on the left side of each contact so, just hit the check box to select the contact.

Step 3 – Click on Labels Icon

After selecting the contacts just click on Label icon just above the contact list or side bar.

Step 4 – Create List

Once you click on Label icon then one drop down box will appear then click on “Create Label” option.

Step 5 – Enter Label Name

After clicking on Create Label option now enter the most appropriate name for your group mail list. It will be either related to project name, team name or friends.

Step 6 – Open Gmail

Now open in your browser and enter your mail credentials again if asked. Make sure it will be same account in which you created the mail list

Step 7 – Compose Mail

Now click on “Compose” button in left upper side which pops up new message window in bottom left corner.

Step 8 – Enter Label’s Name

Now simply enter Label’s name in To field in the new message window. Once you start typing the label’s name then it will suggest you Email’s recipient details. Step 9 – Send Mail

Once you add Label in New Mail window then complete the mail by adding the Subject and body part and click on send button.
